I help organizations see where they are — and evolve toward where they want to go.
I’m Bernd Herbert. I’ve spent my career at the meeting point of strategic design, systems thinking and organizational development — long enough to learn that organizations don’t transform because of better plans. They transform when the people inside them build a shared picture of the whole and get brave enough to act on it.
That conviction has a track record: keynoting on systemic design for strategy at RSD13, publishing with the Design Council, chairing the Board of the Flourishing Business Co-Lab, co-creating the Service Design College course on business design for sustainable growth, and certifying deliberately in the tools and methods I trust.
After two decades in management consulting out of Germany, I followed my calling to the intersection of business and social innovation at a smart city project in Porto, Portugal — where I learned from and with Prof. Amy Edmondson and Prof. Bob Eccles, hands-on, about psychological safety, teaming, and going beyond sustainability.
bebrave lab is the studio where all of that becomes practical: maps, workshops, coaching and design partnerships for organizations that want to be future-fit — psychologically safe on the inside, regenerative toward the outside.
I love travelling, exploring cultures and taking photos. Trail running is my medicine and my metaphor.
